Brooklyn, NY—Brooklyn Botanic Garden’s (BBG) annual Spring Gala returns on Thursday, May 31, 2018, this year honoring Viraj Puri, cofounder and CEO of Gotham Greens. Puri is the recipient of this year’s Better Earth Award, for his dedication to creating transformative pathways to affordable, nutritious, and locally grown produce through urban agriculture, sustainable technology, and social entrepreneurship. This year’s Gala Co-Chairs are Jennifer Eisenstadt and Krystyna Houser, and the Gala Vice-Chairs are Courtney Broadwater and Marshall Miller.

The Spring Gala evening will begin with champagne at the Diane H. and Joseph S. Steinberg Visitor Center and strolling cocktails in the Cranford Rose Garden and Native Flora Garden, followed by dinner on Cherry Esplanade. The evening’s menu will be designed and prepared by Patina Restaurant Group. Each course will feature fresh ingredients that were sustainably grown and harvested by Gotham Greens and other suppliers. After dinner, guests can continue celebrating spring in the Garden with a dance party under the stars at the Gala After Party, with music by Herbert Holler of Freedom Party NYC. Festive botanical attire is encouraged!

Proceeds from the Spring Gala provide essential support for the Garden’s programs and collections. More information and tickets are available for purchase online at bbg.org.
